A Summer Tote...

So I did it, I finished my summer sewing project! It only took a couple of hours over the course of a few days and now I have the perfect tote to bring with me to the flea market!

I added a little vintage charm by using a hanky on the front pocket and an old mother of pearl button closure

I found the button in my Grandma's cousins button box...her name was Lila and she had lovely style.

I made sure to add plenty of interior pockets, a loop for my sunglasses or keys, and even my own label left over from my days as a children's dress designer...

 
I thought this bag would be useful for trips to the farmers market to carry home all of the wonderful fruits, veggies and flowers.

It will also be useful when carrying books home from the library...

One of my very favorite books is Anne's House of Dreams. This is a vintage copy from 1917.  I like to read the older copies when I have a chance. The patina feels so nice.

A Red Head - LA Models Headshots

Everyone who knows me knows my love of red heads so I was thrilled when LA Models sent me  this one. He and his mother were so fun to work with. She styled each of her sons looks and was especially good at it since she styles for a major department store at South Coast Plaza.

Doesn't he have a unique look? He was so photogenic and easy to work with...

I got to see one of my favorite families this morning! The girls were so much fun, they showed up with tiny new freckles and of course the prettiest matching dresses...

I have dusted off my dear Grandma's Singer Style-O-Matic 328...she made some special things on this machine

She took good care of it and saved all of the attachments and accessories (Thanks Grandma!)

Singer promises they have everything for the woman who sews...I sure hope that is true!

Summer has truly arrived in OC and we had a very warm weekend! Fortunately this session started before it was too hot.  Mr. B wasn't so sure about having his picture taken and he started out a little shy...

My favorites are often black and white, but I really like this one in color...

On a side note...I am in the midst of figuring out the image sizing on this blog. Before the images appeared too small...now they appear too soft! I will figure it out one of these days...until then please try to *imagine* how crisp and pretty they appear on my screen! :)
